The trouble with writing a book on healing is that I know too much about it, and yet at the same time I still have too many unanswered questions about How It Works & Why It Does Or Doesn't. No sane editor is going to want me to write a 209,347 page book — even if I wanted to, which I don't. So, what I'm thinking to do is breaking the subject down into smaller bites.

In this particular book, I have it in mind to roll round the wheel of the year and look at the ways that healing can be facilitated by the folk of the Otherworld, by the natural energies of plants and creatures, and working with the seasonal and cyclic energies of Sunfather and Earthmother.

In the over 30 years that I've been professionally doing healing (and also in the 30 amateur years before that), I've had a lot of experience with this, but I never thought of writing a book about it until recently. There are a lot of books about healing and a lot about herbal and flower remedies, but this particular aspect of healing with Otherworld help doesn't seem to have been much written about. Writing this is, like the Faeries' Oracle, turning into a great deal of fun. And besides, the Otherworld folk seem to think it would be a good thing to do.

Well, this, too, was a thing that got stopped by the Great Pneumonia. And it never quite got restarted. Somewhere in moving house several times and other things, my substantial notes for this got lost. These things happen. But I would still like to do the book, only much more briefly. If there is Time Allowed, perhaps I shall.

Some of the other things I meant to write and made notes on were about working with earth energy, raising magical children, and healing, healing, and healing.

Note on the Graphic in the Title

That is a page from the Voynich Manuscript. If you want to know what "lost" really is, that a great example. This is a manuscript that is (to go by the illustrations) about plants, humans, the cosmos, and possibly magic) written by an unknown person in an unknown language using an unknown script. Needless to say, it has never been translated or interpreted or at all understood, although speculation has been rife for centuries. If you want to know more about it, Google is your friend. Here is a scholarly look at exactly what we don't know.
